Martin has been a dad to Lily (and Arthur) since forever, a constant father presence. He IS their dad. But he has no legal rights to either of them in the eyes of the law he’s just ‘stepdad’ and we know this because it wasn’t that long ago Ryan, Lily’s biological father, was still paying child maintenance/support but yet Jay who was only married to Lexi’s mother for a few months and wasn’t with her for TWO YEARS and it was Lola, Ben and Callum ONLY that was co-parenting Lexi between them for the last few years gets LEGAL rights to Lexi (whilst Callum doesn’t, same position as Martin) and Ben gets called out for leaving his nearly secondary school aged daughter in a restaurant for not even two minutes and had her in his sight when she tried to run off but Lily is only two years older and literally PREGNANT with a creepy man obsessing over her and being invited into the house but no one calls Stacey out on that.
